Freezer Room Icemaker Kit Error — electrical system error (motor, gear, Hall IC, circuit) in the freezer icemaker; or upper/lower heater open circuit

How to Fix

  1. 1

    Press the Test Switch on the icemaker. If ice does not drop even when Test S/W is pressed, proceed with diagnostics.

  2. 2

    Check for loose connections from Main PCB to freezer icemaker.

  3. 3

    Measure upper heater (red) resistance: expected 141~163 ohm. If open, replace the icemaker unit.

  4. 4

    Measure lower heater (white) resistance: expected 22.3~25.7 ohm. If open, replace the icemaker unit.

  5. 5

    Check icemaker motor and gear operation. If motor or gear is mechanically failed, replace the icemaker assembly.

  6. 6

    Check Hall IC signal feedback. If no Hall IC signal, replace the icemaker kit.

  7. 7

    If no issue with icemaker mechanism, check Main PCB and harness from Main PCB to icemaker.

  8. 8

    Replace icemaker kit if electrical or mechanical fault is confirmed.
